Group 3 Car Boot Bonanza
Bank Holiday Monday Wasted In Bed?
It’s a bank holiday Monday so you expect to have a nice long lie-in then a lazy PJ day. Well not for group 3. Instead we got up nice and early, put on our Hi-Vis jackets and headed for Cainscross. The reason behind this mad get up time was to try and get some money out of the car booting experts of the Stroud area!! We even had some people who were so keen to get their weekly bargains that there was a queue of 20 cars blocking the road at 7am. This as you can imagine wasn’t too good as all the posters said we were starting at 10am.
You can imagine that this is just a small problem and so we had to open the gates early and let the car booting experts set up and buy all sorts of weird and wonderful things. This all managed to happen before 8am on a bank holiday Monday!!
After all this hassle everything seemed to run smoothly apart from running out of sausages and milk.
I think I speak for everyone but all in all it seemed a very successful fundraiser for WSJ. We had all sorts of things going on: BBQ, Hot Drinks, Sweets and managing the Car Park. Donations where gratefully appreciated and came in thick and fast at the entrance where people who were confused about parking could be escorted to a place depending on their needs.
The Scouts and Explorers even managed to get some time to play a game or two of Air Hockey in the Pavilion. This was interesting to say the least!
On behalf of the Scouts and Explorers in Group 3 we would like to say a MASSIVE Thank You to all the parents who helped us raise money on Monday (We are still waiting to see how much cash we raised!).
